About The Course and Course Instructor

In 2012, the SLTA, through its Alabama Land Title School partnered with Karen Koogler, CEO of The Koogler Group,  to develop and deliver the 20-Hour Title Agent Prelicensing Course. With 45 years of industry experience, Karen has authored 30+ industry textbooks and developed myriad educational programs and testing products. In addition to her National Lecture Series, Karen has developed and delivered state prelicensing programs in Alabama, Florida, Indiana, and Virginia and written state licensing textbooks for Alabama, Florida, Indiana, New York, and Virginia, as well as a series of Multi-State Study Manuals for licensing and industry certification. In response to CFPB Bulletin 2012-03 regarding Bank oversight of Service Providers, she wrote The Federal Compliance Risk Management Manual [2014].

In Spring 2020, amid the COVID crisis, Karen developed Virtual Classroom Programs for the Florida 40-Hour Title Agent Prelicensing Course and the Alabama 20-Hour Title Agent Prelicensing Course. Both Programs are accredited, respectively, for Florida Bar Attorneys [40 hours including 2.5 hours of ethics] and Alabama Bar Attorneys [16.7 hours MCLE including 1 hour of ethics].
